Happy 75th Birthday Keith Richards: Performing With The Rolling Stones Through The Decades

190

Guitarist Keith Richards turns 75-years-old today. Richards and fellow co-founding member of The Rolling Stones Mick Jagger have written some of the most memorable and well-known songs in the history of rock ‘n’ roll. Since the early-1960s, Keith and Mick have created an unparalleled catalog of music that has inspired and thrilled listeners around the globe.

In celebration of Richards’ 75th today, below is a collection of videos of The Rolling Stones performing live in each decade starting in the 1960s. First is a clip of a cover of Bo Diddley’s “I’m Alright” from a performance in Ireland in 1965. Keith then fronts The Stones on a version of “Happy” from Exile On Main Street during a live show in Texas in 1972. The 1980s are represented by footage of “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” from Hampton Coliseum in 1981.

Jumping ahead 10 years, a rendition of “Ruby Tuesday” from the European leg of the Urban Jungle Tour in 1990 comes next. Moving into the current millennium, the latter-day original “You Got Me Rocking” can be seen from a stop on the A Bigger Bang Tour in 2006. Closing things out is footage from 2016 of “Brown Sugar” from their landmark trip to Cuba. Watch Keith playing through the decades below:
