High Sierra Music Festival Announces Initial 2019 Lineup

The High Sierra Music Festival returns to Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds in Quincy, California on July 4 – 7, 2019 for its 29th annual installment. Organizers of the event unveiled its initial 2019 lineup today.

Greensky Bluegrass, Jim James, St. Paul & The Broken Bones and Galactic top the bill revealed today. James will perform with a full band and makes his return to High Sierra for the first time since My Morning Jacket played the event in 2011. Greensky heads back to the festival after two years off. Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, The Marcus King Band, ALO, The Polish Ambassador, Jennifer Hartswick Band, Cris Jacobs Band, Cha Wa and Ron Artis II & The Truth are also aboard for High Sierra 2019. The festival will additionally host a pair of tributes as Karl Denson will honor The Allman Brothers Band with a Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe Presents Eat A Bunch Of Peaches set and The Nth Power will honor the music of Marvin Gaye. More acts will be added in the coming months.

High Sierra was first held in Leland Meadows, California July 4 – 7, 1991 and has taken place on July 4th weekend or close to it ever since. Plumas-Sierra Fairgrounds has been the festival’s home since 1998 with the exception of 1999. The community-minded event goes well beyond music as the High Sierra Music Festival also hosts yoga, pilates, dance classes, an interactive family area and daily parades. High Sierra is also known for its intimate Artist Playshops and songwriter-driven Troubadour Sessions.

Discounted tickets are on sale now via Eventbrite. The full on-sale including RV Passes and VIP packages will take place on January 9.
