Hootie and the Blowfish to reunite for ‘Group Therapy Tour’ and new album

Better late than never. After a 15 year hiatus, Darius Rucker, Mark Bryan, Dean Felber, and Jim Sonefeld, better known as Hootie and the Blowfish, will reunite in 2019 with a new tour titled the “Group Therapy Tour,” and a new album to follow.

The multi-platinum recording artist will embark on a 44-city marathon across North America with special guests Barenaked Ladies.

New York will receive some “Group Therapy” when the tour makes stops at SPAC, in Saratoga Springs on Aug. 4, CMAC in Canandaigua on Aug. 9, and Madison Square Garden in NYC on Aug. 10. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Dec. 7, at 10 a.m.

Hootie and the Blowfish earned immediate success with their 1994 debut album, Cracked Rear View. The album is certified twice Diamond with over 21 million copies sold. Cracked Rear View produced hits like “Hold My Hand,” “Let Her Cry,” and “Only Wanna Be With You.” The band plans to release a new album in 2019 through Universal Music Group Nashville. the same label Rucker is signed to as a solo artist.
