At the first weekend of Electric Forest, the Disco Biscuits’ bassist Marc Brownstein debuted a brand-new side project dubbed Star Kitchen. In November, the relatively new project made its inaugural run with a mini East Coast tour. Star Kitchen has announced two new shows, as the four-piece will hit Baltimore, MD’s 8×10 on January 4th, followed by a show at Fairfield, CT’s StageOne on January 5th.
With Star Kitchen, Brownstein finds himself joined by Danny Mayer (Eric Krasno Band), Rob Marscher (Addison Groove Project), and Marlon Lewis (Lauryn Hill & John Legend). During the group’s first run of shows, the band stuck to classics, using tight renditions of funk and R&B standards as a launching point to dive deep into adventurous and exploratory extended jams.
In their brief history as a band, Star Kitchen has welcomed a plethora of familiar faces including Robert Randolph, Eddie Roberts, Lady Alma, Chill Moody and Trey Anastasio Band saxophonist James Casey, Addison Groove Project saxophonist Dave Adams, Eric Krasno, and Snarky Puppy horn players Chris Bullock and Mike “Maz” Maher.
