moe. has shared the first batch of concert highlights from 2018 with 15 live recordings featured on their Wicked Awesome compilation released on Wednesday. The popular jam band’s digital release of Wicked Awesome Vol. 1 includes performances recorded throughout the year beginning with bassist Rob Derhak‘s return to performing at The Capitol Theater following cancer treatment back in February, through one of their recent shows at Marathon Music Works in Nashville earlier this month.
The first batch of recordings were all taped at a total of eight different venues across the country, and appear chronologically beginning with “Rebubula” from Derhak’s return at The Cap on February 2nd, followed by “Awesome Gary” > “Kids” from Los Angeles’ The Fonda on July 6th. The album continues with the three-song transition of “Buster” > “Pastorus” > “Silver Sun” performed at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre back on July 12th, followed by a stand-alone recording of “Puebla” from the show at Saranac Brewery in Utica, New York on September 8th. The latter half of the compilation continues with “Zelda Naught Z” from Philadelphia’s Fillmore on October 27th, followed by a pair of live tracks performed at The Plaza Live in Orlando on November 29th with “McBain” and “meat.”. The band included three more Flordia performances recorded at Ft. Lauderdale’s Culture Room a few nights later on November 30th with “Recreational Chemistry” > “ATL” > “Recreational Chemistry”. The album comes to a close with their performance of “Plane Crash” in Nashville back on December 9th.
moe. will continue their busy concert schedule into the coming year beginning with a run of shows throughout the northeast beginning in February, followed by their return to Red Rocks in early June with Phish‘s Mike Gordon and White Denim. moe. also recently announced the return of their .moedown festival to Snow Ridge in Turin, New York, scheduled for July 4th-6th next summer. The band will close out their year with two New Year’s performances at the Kodak Center in Rochester, New York on December 30th and 31st before then.
