The Newport Folk Festival will take from July 26 – 28, 2019 at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island. The festival has started to reveal its lineup, which they have traditionally dripped out one artist at a time. Yesterday, organizers confirmed its third addition with Mountain Man.
For their 2019 edition, the Newport Folk Festival has announced that they have partnered with each act on the lineup to donate to a music education cause of their choosing. The Newport Festivals Foundation has made a donation to Girls Rock NC on behalf of Mountain Man. All funds will go toward reviving “Torchbearers Project,” a program Girls Rock NC ran in 2017 in partnership with Music Maker Relief Foundation.
Mountain Man joins Gregory Alan Isakov and If I Had A Song, which will close out the festival and celebrate Newport Folk Festival founder Pete Seeger’s 100th birthday. The 2019 installment of the Newport Folk Festival is officially sold out.
