Phil Cook shared a new single entitled “The Truth.” The track was co-produced by Cook and his brother Brad Cook.
Here’s Phil’s take on “The Truth”:
A new song I wrote about our current dealing with the facts. Dealings between countrymen, dealings between family, and dealings between friends. Been writing more in this stylistic vein as of late and also I get a chance to sing high, which is new territory for me and I’m excited about that.
Phil Cook, whose affiliations include Hiss Golden Messenger and Megafaun, released his solo album People Are My Drug earlier this year. The new song features Phil Cook on guitar and organ accompanied by regular collaborators James Wallace on piano, Michael Libramento on bass, JT Bates on drums, Brevan Hampden on percussion and vocalists Tamisha Waden and Sylvan Esso/Mountain Man’s Amelia Meath.
