Portland, Oregon’s Shook Twins will issue a new album entitled Some Good Lives through Dutch Records on February 15. The band shared the video for the LP’s first single, “Stay Wild” and confirmed a batch of early-2019 tour dates.

Identical twin sisters Katelyn Shook and Laurie Shook are joined on the new album by their full band of drummer Barra Brown, bassist Sydney Nash and multi-instrumentalist Niko Slice after the ladies started the process by themselves at Hallowed Halls studio in 2016. “It took us a long time to find the band that we wanted to record these songs with and for the songs to fully mature,” admitted Laurie in a press release announcing Some Good Lives. “Once Barra, Sydney and Niko joined us, we really started to explore what our music could be. These amazing players helped us realize that we could be more than just ‘folk pop’. We started adding other genres to the word like ‘disco,’ ‘psychedelic,’ ‘funk,’ and ‘soul.’ We really honed in on a new sound.”

Shook Twins return to the road at Visual Art Collective in Garden City, Idaho on February 13 and at The Mint in Hailey, Idaho on February 14. From there, the group visits Missoula, Salt Lake City, Santa Fe (New Mexico), Aspen, Steamboat Springs and Boulder. A California swing features stops in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Morro Bay, Berkeley, Petaluma and Arcata.
