The Allman Betts Band finished recording their debut album with producer Matt Ross-Spang at the legendary Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Look for the LP to be released in the Spring of 2019.

Frontmen Devon Allman and Duane Betts added keyboardist John Ginty to The Allman Betts Band lineup, which also includes bassist Berry Oakley Jr., slide guitarist Johnny Stachela and percussionists R. Scott Bryan and John Lum. Gregg Allman Band organist Peter Levin and Rolling Stones/Allman Brothers Band keyboardist Chuck Leavell also contributed to the new LP.

Here’s what Duane Betts had to say about the forthcoming album:

“I’m very proud of this record. The song always ignites the flame, the connection to the listener and I feel like we have accomplished that. What an honor it was to record in Muscle Shoals, a place so rich in musical history and to work with Matt Ross-Spang who shared the same vision as Devon and I. We are very excited to share with everyone soon!”

Devon Allman added the following about the LP:

“What an honor to make a record at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio. It was very important to me to make a 100% analog recording on 2 inch tape to try and evoke the vibes of the records we grew up with. To do that in such a historic place is so profound to us. Also, producer Matt Ross-Spang is a longtime friend and the perfect cat to help our vision. There’s some classic 70’s rock feels, some RnB, some Texas, some Nashville….soulful Americana, with teeth. We are stoked to share it with the world in Spring 2019.”

The Allman Betts Band will hit the road for their inaugural tour between March 28 – April 14, 2019. Stops in Connecticut, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Massachusetts are planned. Devon and Duane are currently on the road as part of The Devon Allman Project with special guest Duane Betts. Allman and Betts will lead The Allman Family Revival at The Fillmore in San Francisco this Saturday, December 8. Devon, Duane and Berry will be joined by Luther & Cody Dickinson, G. Love, Samantha Fish, Jimmy Hall, Marcus King, Robert Randolph and more. Tickets are on sale now via Live Nation.
