The String Cheese Incident continued their New Year’s Run at 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado on Saturday. As expected, the six-piece act was joined by Robert Randolph and the members of Dumpstaphunk throughout their two-set show.

The jamgrass act tapped “You’ve Got The World” to open up the second night of what is serving as the kick off to their 25th-anniversary celebration that will stretch throughout 2019. SCI paired old and new tunes next serving up “Little Hands,” which dates back to 1995 with “Manga,” a new Jason Hann song that was debuted earlier this year. Longtime fan-favorite “Miss Brown’s Teahouse” followed as it worked its way into the Michael Kang-penned “It Is What It Is.” Dumpstaphunk’s Ivan Neville, Ian Neville and Tony Hall emerged next to help close out the opening frame. The meaty ensemble first teamed up on another new cut serving up “Get To You.” Next, String Cheese unearthed their cover of Sonny Landreth’s “Congo Square.” It marked the first time the track from the guitarist’s 1995 album South of I-10 had been played since May 3, 2000.

The String Cheese Incident were joined by Randolph right out of the gate to start their second set. The augmented act looked to the pedal steel whiz’s catalog as they dug in on “Got Soul,” the title track from his 2017 album. Next, the pairing offered up a cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “Voodoo Child.” The Electric Ladylandy cut had been sitting on the shelf since July of 2001 and was played for just the fourth time since 2003. SCI would go guestless for the rest of the stanza, which was highlighted by the pairings of “Restless Wind” and “Hi Ho No Show” as well as “Vertigo” and “Beautiful.” Randolph and the members of Dumpstaphunk reemerged for the encore as the full stage of musicians served up the debut of Funkadelic’s “Red Hot Mama.” Watch pro-shot video of the openers from each set courtesy of nugs.tv below:
