Watch Brandon “Taz” Niederauer Rip The National Anthem At The Philadelphia 76ers Game [Video]

On Friday night, the Indiana Pacers made their way to Philly’s Wells Fargo Center to take on the Philadelphia 76ers. While the hometown squad lost a tough one, fans in the house on Friday got to see some young star power in action—and no, we’re not talking about Joel Embiid‘s 40-point, 21-rebound performance (however dominant he looked). The young star we’re referencing is one of our favorite guitarists on the scene: 15-year-old phenom Brandon “Taz” Niederauer.

In addition to performing during halftime, Taz opened the evening with a Jimi Hendrix-inspired solo electric guitar rendition of  “The Star-Spangled Banner”. You can watch a video of Taz’s national anthem performance below:

Taz had been preparing for the high-profile appearance all week. On Tuesday, he posted a video of himself in a Sixers jersey practicing for his Wells Fargo Center debut with a jam on the Sixers’ longtime team theme song, “Here Come The Sixers”. Watch the clip below:

This was far from Taz’s first appearance at a pro sporting event. Earlier this year, he manned the national anthem duties at a Chicago Cubs game at Wrigley Field. Even before that, in 2016, he performed a rendition of Jimi Hendrix‘s “Voodoo Child” at Madison Square Garden during halftime at a New York Knicks game.

Brandon’s Sixers guest spot came ahead of the Brandon “Taz” Niederauer Band‘s performance tonight, Saturday, December 5th, and Philadelphia’s The Foundry. For tickets to tonight’s performance, head here. For a full list of Taz’s upcoming tour dates, head over to his website.
