Bob Weir & Wolf Bros Perform At NAMM 2019

202

Bob Weir and Wolf Bros reunited for their first show of 2019 on Thursday. The three-piece act played a private gig for D’Angelico Guitars at the annual NAMM Show in Anaheim.

Weir, bassist Don Was and drummer Jay Lane kicked off their hour and a half performance with a take on Little Feat’s “Easy To Slip.” From there, the trio served up “Only A River” from Weir’s 2016 collection of cowboy songs Blue Mountain and the Grateful Dead classic “Jack Straw.” Weir then strapped on his brand new Deluxe Bob Weir Bedford signature D’Angelico-made model electric guitar. The threesome proceeded to dig in on a lengthy and inventive segue-filled sequence as they strung together jam-vehicle “Dark Star” with “Bird Song” and the traditional pairing of “Lost Sailor” and “Saint Of Circumstance.”

Percussionist Wally Ingram emerged next and would remain on stage through the rest of the set. The augmented ensemble went with “West L.A. Fadeaway” and “Easy Answers” ahead of show-closing takes on Bob Dylan’s “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall” and Buddy Holly’s “Not Fade Away.” Watch fan-shot video of the entire performance captured by Scott Medeiros below:
