Ghost Light Shares Official Audio From Post-Phish Show At Sony Hall In New York City

147

Ghost Light performed in front of a capacity crowd at Sony Hall in New York City during a Post-Phish concert held on December 30. The quintet unveiled official audio of their Sony Hall set as the latest installment in their bi-weekly Full Show Friday series of free releases.

Guitarists Tom Hamilton and Raina Mullen, keyboardist Holly Bowling, bassist Steve Lyons and drummer Scotty Zwang opened with a 30-minute sequence that combined the original “Keep Your Hands To Yourself” with a cover of “Head Over Heels” by Tears For Fears. The five-piece used the Tears For Fears hit as a launching pad for a wild jam that eventually wound back into “Keep Your Hands To Yourself.”

Ghost Light dropped the “Keep Your Hands To Yourself” reprise into “Old Fashioned” from Hamilton’s American Babies project. The band showed off a different more spacey side of their improvisational prowess during the “I Dare You” that followed. Next up was a “Synth Driver” that bled into “Best Kept Secret” which gave way to a reprise of “Head Over Heels.” The seamless set continued with the Brothers Past classic “Boy” and the Ghost Light original “Don’t Come Apart Just Yet, My Dear” and ended with another run at “Best Kept Secret.” Holly, Tom, Raina, Steve and Scotty encored with the pairing of “Bullseye Blues” and the conclusion of “Don’t Come Apart Just Yet, My Dear.” Listen to a soundboard matrix recording taped and mixed by Eric McRoberts:
