Greensky Bluegrass continued their extensive winter tour in support of the recently released All For Money on Thursday night at The Mill & Mine in Knoxville, Tennessee. The five-piece once again collaborated with Cris Jacobs and honored a show they played 10 years to the day prior.
On January 24, 2009 GSBG visited the Grand Lodge in Forest Grove, Oregon. The band paid tribute to the decade-old performance by recreating the encore from that night and other moments. Greensky opened with “Great Atomic Power,” the same song they used to kick off the concert in Forest Grove. Jacobs emerged a few tunes later to lead his own “Be My Stars,” which marked Greensky’s first performance of the song since March 29, 2017. Cris also added to a cover of Bill Monroe’s “I’m Working On A Building.”
A pairing of “Hit Parade Of Love” and “Forget Everything” started last night’s second set. Next up was a run of “fours” as “All Four” bled into “The Four” and was followed by “All For Money.” The evening’s encore was the exact same one the five-piece used 10 years prior, as they worked just the fourth “Runnin’ The Briars” since 2012 within their sixth cover of Prince’s “Little Red Corvette” since 2013. Earlier in the evening, GSBG’s Paul Hoffman sat-in with opening act the Cris Jacobs Band.
