On Thursday night, Greensky Bluegrass opened their early-2019 All For Money tour with a performance at Albany, NY’s The Palace Theatre with support from Circles Around The Sun.

After opening with “A Letter To Seymour” and “In Control”, the five-piece moved into a stretched-out take on “All For Money”, the title track from their upcoming album. “The Four” > “Bottle Dry” were up next, followed by “Into The Rafters”, “Like Reflections”, “Burn Them”, and “Blood Sucking F(r)iends”. An improv-heavy “All Four” anchored the first set before a cover of Dire Straits‘ “Money For Nothing” sent the show into setbreak.

Set two opened with “Old Barns” before moving into a pair of All For Money tracks, “Murder of Crows” and “What You Need”, the latter of which saw the band welcome percussionist Guido Batista, who also adds his rhythm work to the album version of the track. A rendition of Jimmy Martin bluegrass standard “Hit Parade of Love” came next, before the band led into an out-there, improv-heavy rendition of Bob Marley‘s “Could You Be Loved”. The performance continued from there with “The Radio Blues”, “Broken Highways”, and an extended “Run Or Die” before “Windshield” brought the set to a close. Finally, the band returned for a two-song encore of “Dustbowl Overtures” and “Wheel Hoss”.
