Mavis Staples shared the video for “Love And Trust” from her upcoming album Live In London. ANTI- Records is set to issue the 14-track live LP on February 8.
Staples recorded Live In London at Union Chapel last July 9 and July 10 – the latter marking her 79th birthday. Staples’ last live album Hope At The Hideout was recorded in 2008 in her hometown of Chicago. The music on Live In London focus on the albums Staples has released since joining ANTI- in 2007. Jeff Tweedy, Justin Vernon, M. Ward, Benjamin Booker and Ben Harper are among those who wrote songs that appear on the album. Staples previously shared the following regarding the Harper-written “Love And Trust”:
I love that song, it’s a beauty. I’ve been sending a message of love and trust since the sixties, and I’m still searching for that.
