A new EDM festival is set to launch in Melbourne this May, dubbed Max X Generation (MXG).
The company behind the new event, DEBKX, is hoping over 10,000 people will attend the debut MXG event at Melbourne Showgrounds on Saturday, 4th May.
DEBKX says it has invited “several influential DJs from the world’s top 100 list”, in an attempt to “create an electronic music carnival party that symbolises Melbourne and accelerate[s] local electronic music development”.
The festival’s inaugural theme will be ‘Galaxy’, and its first round lineup to be announced “soon after” the festival pre-sale ends on 22 January 2019, organisers say.
DEBKX says its team has “at least five years of working experience in project planning and developing, participating and implementing large-scale activities, such as concerts, big matches, commercial activities and conferences”.
The launch of MXG follows other recent EDM launches in Australia, including Ultra Australia and Storm (which was later cancelled).
