Pigeons Playing Ping Pong are undoubtedly entering their biggest year to date, as the Baltimore-based psychedelic funk band have officially sold out their upcoming headlining performance at Port Chester, NY’s “rock palace” The Capitol Theatre on Saturday, January 26th. This monumental feat marks the band’s earliest advanced sell-out, with over two weeks before the actual concert, at their second largest room to date, following NYE‘s 2,400-cap Madison Theatre.

EXCLUSIVE: PPPP’s Alex Petropulos Talks Graduating To The Capitol Theatre, The Origins Of “Gator” & More

Fans of the Pigeons who weren’t able to secure their tickets in advance will be treated to a free live stream of the entire show, featuring opening support from Mihali (Twiddle), courtesy of the band and The Relix Channel.

“We love graduating to new venues, and it gives us the drive to keep pushing harder, too,”drummer Alex “Gator” Petropulos expressed to L4LM in a recent interview. “That also comes into play with our next shows coming up, especially at The Capitol Theatre. That’s definitely another one of those pinnacle venues to graduate to.”

He goes on to admire the shape of the room and the potential opportunity for their lighting designer, Manny Newman. “Manny is going to have a field day there [laughs]. He’s already prepping. I just went over to hang out with him earlier, and his bedroom looks like front of house. He’s already working his butt off getting ready—for all the shows on this upcoming tour. But we’re all doing a lot of prep for that one, especially.”

In addition to having Mihali on deck, Gator tipped L4LM off to a few more special guests, the horns section from West End Blend. “On New Year’s Eve, we were fortunate enough to have the West End Blend horns join us on that show, and they are just so talented. Not only will they learn whatever, but they’ll also just come up with great lines just even on the spot.” He continues, “And now I can share that we are actually going to be having them join us for some features at The Capitol Theatre as well. I’ve been getting some feedback about people being especially pumped for that one, and we are, too.” So are we!

Tune in here at 8 pm ET for a free webcast of Mihali and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong’s big night at The Cap.
