STS9 Shares New Year’s Eve Balloon Drop Montage

127

To ring in 2019, jamtronica favorites STS9 hosted a New Year’s Eve celebration at Denver’s Fillmore Auditorium. The instrumental quintet pulled out all the stops for their New Year’s Run, which spanned four nights and two venues — the band performed an intimate show at Denver’s Summit Music Hall on December 30 and played The Fillmore on December 28, 29 and 31.

To start their New Year’s Eve performance, STS9 treated fans to the live debut of “Days Out Of Time,” a song that appeared on the band’s improvisational Wave Spell series, which debuted last April. During the group’s standout second set, the band used “Spending Time” as an entry into their New Year’s countdown. From there, after a celebratory balloon drop, STS9 wasted no time in jumping back into their set, launching into a non-stop run through “Seed,” “Dance,” “Inspire Strikes Back” and an extended improvisation section leading into “Presence Of Light.”

To commemorate their recent New Year’s Eve celebration at The Fillmore Auditorium, STS9 released a montage of fan-shot videos capturing the moments surrounding and during the countdown. Created by fan Daniel Alves and featuring the song “Spending Time,” the video contains nearly a dozen different clips taken from around the venue, including crowd reactions and shots from the balconies and on the floor. Check out the countdown montage put together by Daniel Alves below:
