“Jayme Closs was located alive,” the sheriff’s office in Douglas County, Wisconsin, said in a statement late Thursday. Witnesses told US media that Closs had approached a neighbor of the suspect for help while the neighbor was walking her dog at approximately 4:00 pm Thursday. The Minneapolis Star Tribune newspaper, citing witnesses, described Closs’s appearance as gaunt, with matted hair and shoes too big for her feet.
