Entertainer/musician and podcast host Andy Frasco recently released the latest episode of his Andy Frasco’s World Saving Podcast. The episode features an interview with Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, a cover of Ryan Adams’ “To Be Young (Is To Be Sad, Is To Be High)” and more.
A voicemail from Widespread Panic bassist Dave Schools starts the episode. Schools produced Frasco’s forthcoming Change Of Pace LP. Listeners then hear Andy Frasco & The U.N.’s original “Love Is A Waiting Game.” Andy then discusses his experience aboard The Rock Boat, where he recorded the intro for episode 35 with co-host Chad Cocuzza.
The Taz interview spans 45 minutes and includes discussion of a variety of topics. Niederauer talks about his start in the music industry, why he still goes to public school, his mentors, basketball and more. One of the more fascinating parts of the interview comes when Andy asks Brandon about his experience the night Col. Bruce Hampton died. Taz was taking a solo when his mentor went down at his feet. Niederauer didn’t have much time to grieve as he took the stage on Broadway for School Of Rock the next night, which was his decision and feels was helpful. The interview is followed by Andy Frasco & The U.N. performing a portion of “To Be Young (Is To Be Sad, Is To Be High).” Listen to the entire podcast below:
