The 2019 GRAMMYs went down yesterday, and a lot of people walked away big winners. Kacey Musgraves, Childish Gambino, Dua Lipa and Lady Gaga all walked away with multiple awards.
But someone else who walked away with an award was Cardi B, who became the first ever solo woman to win the Grammy for ‘Best Rap Album.’
A clearly nervous and shocked Cardi took to the stage to give her speech, but she took to social media later to give special thank you’s that she missed while she on stage.
In a video posted to Instagram, a much more excited Cardi thanked a whole bunch of people before giving a special mention to Mac Miller‘s family who was in the audience.
Miller’s family had said previously that if Miller didn’t win – he was also nominated for his album Swimming – that they would want Cardi to take it.
“I read an article that said Mac Miller’s family wanted me to win if he didn’t win, so I’m sharing this with you motherf*cker. Rest in peace.”
