Ferrari’s F8 Tributo Boasts Its Most Powerful Production V8 Ever

Ferrari just unleashed a brand new supercar with the heftiest V8 ever to power a Prancing Horse.

The 710-horsepower F8 Tributo is the successor to the 660-hp 488 GTB. The Italian automaker says that this iteration of the  3.9-liter, twin-turbocharged power plant has the highest output of any “production” Ferrari V8, though the “special” 488 Pista is technically more powerful.

Thanks to an 88-pound weight cut, the Tributo will hit 62 mph in 2.9 seconds, 124 mph in 7.8 seconds, and max out at 211 mph.

Outlets including Road and Track and Autoblog predict that the mid-engined two-seater will be way easier for the layman to handle at speed for two major reasons.

A re-engineered S-duct now channels air over the hood from under the grille, which delivers 15 percent more downforce and improves traction.

The Tributo also boasts the latest iteration of Ferrari’s Side Slip Angle Control and Dynamic Enhancer systems, which makes it easier to whip the tail through a corner without spinning out.

The cockpit has all of the typical drive controls one expects from a track-worthy performance vehicle on a new, slightly smaller steering wheel. There’s also a seven-inch touchscreen on the passenger’s side, because why not?

Prices will likely be announced when the F8 Tributo goes on display at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
