Joel Cummins Covers Wilco During Relix Session

This past Friday, Umphrey’s McGee keyboardist Joel Cummins recorded a session at Relix’s New York City headquarters for the publication’s Live At Relix series. Joel’s set included a cover of Wilco’s “Jesus, Etc.”

Cummins, who was in town for UM’s three-night stand at Brooklyn Steel, kicked off his brief performance with the Wilco tune. He then told a story of the amp he was playing through, which is the same as the first one he used during the band’s early days. Joel went on to “get weird” with an improvised piece before concluding the set wit “D’yer Maker D’yer Semba,” a song he wrote for his wife Dasha. Watch the session below:
