Northwest String Summit organizers announced the addition of Grateful Dead tribute act Dark Star Orchestra to this year’s lineup. The 2019 installment of the event will take place at Horning’s Hideout in North Plains, Oregon July 18 – 21.
Dark Star Orchestra will present “In The Spirit Of 8/27/1972.” The band will recreate much of the Grateful Dead’s famed August 27, 1972 show; which took place at the Old Renaissance Faire Grounds in Veneta, Oregon with Ken Kesey serving as emcee. The Dead famously played three sets over five hours at the site of what is now the Oregon County Fair.
Yonder Mountain String Band, Trampled By Turtles, The Infamous Stringdusters, Fruition, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Shook Twins and The Lil Smokies are among the other acts confirmed for the 2019 Northwest String Summit. Various ticketing packages are on sale now here.
