Tomorrow, the 61st Grammy Awards ceremony will be held at Staples Center in Los Angeles. Brandi Carlile, John Prine and Margo Price were among the notable musicians receiving nominations this year. They appear along with several other standout nominees in the Spotify Playlist presented in this edition of Saturday Stream.
Carlile is up for Record Of The Year, Best American Roots Performance, Song Of The Year and Best American Roots Song for “The Joke,” which appeared on her album By The Way, I Forgive You that was nominated for Album Of The Year and Best Americana Album. Prine will go up against Carlile for Best American Roots Song for his “Knockin’ On Your Screen Door” and “Summer’s End,” from Prine’s album The Tree Of Forgiveness which will challenge Carlile and The Wood Brothers’ One Drop Of Truth for Best Americana Album.
Price earned her first Grammy Award nomination for Best New Artist. Others going for Grammys tonight include Kacey Musgraves, Greta Van Fleet, Beck, Willie Nelson, Janelle Monae, Chris Cornell, St. Vincent, David Byrne, Leon Bridges, Ben Harper & Charlie Musselwhite, Buddy Guy, Anderson .Paak, The Travelin’ McCourys and Punch Brothers.
