Pigeons Playing Ping Pong concluded a run of shows in Florida at The Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday night. .

The quartet opened with a singalong “Somethin For Ya” and continued with the band’s first version of “Stay” since April 15, 2018. PPPP gave the set a celebratory feeling with the year’s first “Hava Nagila,” which bled into staples “Too Long” and “Melting Lights.” The seamless sequence also featured an “Offshoot” featuring the “Pink Panther Theme” within. Old favorites “Fade Fast” and “Doc” were broken up by “Yo Soy Fiesta” to end the frame.

Pigeons kicked off the second set with the pairing of “Time To Ride” and “Sail On.” Guitarist Greg Ormont then led the group through their second-ever cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Living For The City” and first since they debuted the song on New Year’s stEve. The euphoric “Living For The City” was followed by the pretty “Horizon,” which gave way to an untz-y jam. After a run of “Fox & Toad,” “The Liquid,” “Sunny Day” and “Dawn A New Day,” PPPP lit into “Julia.” The four-piece worked their third-ever cover of Buster Poindexter’s “Hot Hot Hot” in the middle of the set-closing “Julia.” For the encore, the band served up “Whirled.”
