Guitarist Brandon “Taz” Niederauer joined Spafford for a 13+ minute version of “America” as part of the Arizona jam quartet’s Pool Deck set on the final night of Jam Cruise 17. Spafford shared pro-shot video of the stand out collaboration from January 20, that saw the band play underneath a rare super blood wolf moon.
Taz was an MVP of Jam Cruise 17 who was everywhere, often impressing both those on stage and off. Taz showed off a different side of his musicality with Spafford as it wasn’t just “shred and attack.” While there was plenty of shredding, he also zigged and zagged with Spafford at various points during the wild, improv-heavy “America.” Niederauer was an inspired choice for a guest and the 15-year-old guitarist made the most of the opportunity.
