Noughties rap-metal-punk-rock icons Sum 41 have announced an exclusive headline show to kick-off their Download Festival campaign in Sydney.

They’ll be hitting the stage at the freshly minted Crowbar (FKA The Bald Faced Stag) on Friday, 8th March (i.e. the day before the Sydney leg of the fest).

Supporting them will be Newcastle pop-punks Eat Your Heart Out, fresh off the M1.

Download is set to go down in Sydney on Saturday, 9th March before hitting Melbourne on the long weekend Monday, 11th March.

ICYMI headliner Ozzy Osbourne has just been forced to pull out due to ill health, but there’s still plenty for Aussie metalheads to get excited about on the 2019 lineup, including Slayer, Rise Against, Ghost, Alice In Chains, Judas Priest, Halestorm, The Amity Affliction, High Tension, Luca Brasi, Polaris and many more.

Not to mention Sum 41 of course!
