Widespread Panic Announces ‘’Til The Medicine Takes’ Vinyl

122

Widespread Panic will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their Till The Medicine Takes studio album by issuing the LP on vinyl for the first time on April 12. The record was the band’s last with Capricorn Records and penultimate studio album with founding member Michael Houser.

The album takes its name from a lyric featured in the chorus of the LP’s fourth track, “Blue Indian” and was originally issued on July 27, 1999. Panic tapped John Keane to produce the album and recorded ‘Til The Medicine Takes at his studio in their hometown of Athens. The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Dottie Peoples and Anne Richmond Boston each make guest appearances.

‘Til The Medicine Takes has been remastered for vinyl and will be pressed on 140-gram vinyl featuring a 3-D lenticular cover containing the artwork of Flournoy Holmes. In addition, the double-LP will include versions of “Dyin’ Man” and “The Waker” recorded live during a 2000 session for Denver radio station KBCO. Think Indie will distribute the tri-fold vinyl release, which is available for pre-order from select independent record stores.
