The Smith Street Band vocalist Wil Wagner has issued a statement via the band’s Instagram regarding a series of screenshots, posted online, depicting abusive messages sent to former partners.

In the statement, Wagner admits to using language that was “incredibly hurtful” describing the leaked emails and Facebook direct messages, which were allegedly sent from Wagner between 2013 and 2016. Wagner also claims the leaked correspondence was “selectively” shown and “accompanied by one-sided statements.” You can read the post in full below.

The statement comes 4 days after the screenshots were posted online. Last week, more than a dozen screenshots of emails allegedly sent from Wagner during 2016 to a former partner, were leaked.
