On April 26, Because Music will issue a new posthumous album from JJ Cale titled Stay Around. The label released an animated music video for the collection’s title track and announced a slew of new JJ Cale album reissues and debuts on vinyl.

“Stay Around” marks the second single off the forthcoming album, after the lead single “Chasing You.” The album itself follows the iconic guitarist’s last album, 2009’s Roll On, and his death in 2013, offering 15 previously unreleased songs to the public. The record was compiled by Cale’s widow, Christine Lakeland Cale, and his longtime manager, Mike Kappusmarks. The animated video for “Stay Around” was created by the Femme Fatale production house. The clip follows a train as it moves across the country, with two characters based off Cale and his widow recurring throughout.

“The song moves me,” Christine Lakeland Cale stated. “And the peaceful rhythm of the train and where it travels to at the end of this video says it all for me.”

To celebrate the upcoming release of Stay Around, Because Music also announced the release of five older JJ Cale albums on vinyl. 1994’s Closer To You, 1996’s Guitar Man, 2001’s Live and 2004’s To Tulsa And Back will be released to the format for the first time. Cale’s final album before his death, Roll On, will also be reissued on vinyl. All the forthcoming vinyl releases are due out on April 26 and will be pressed on limited 180-gram black vinyl.
