Blackberry Smoke Performs Acoustic Cover Of Elton John’s ‘Burn Down The Mission’: Video

158

Blackberry Smoke is currently in the midst of their Break It Down Tour, with a spring leg marking the Atlanta five-piece’s first-ever acoustic run. The Southern rock act kicked off the unplugged jaunt at Lexington, Kentucky’s Opera House with a performance on March 14 featuring the group covering Elton John’s “Burn Down The Mission.”

The first of two shows at the Opera House featured several selections of tunes from Blackberry Smoke’s sixth studio album released last April, Find A Light, along with classics from their back catalog. The band offered their cover of John’s “Burn Down The Mission,” the final track off 1970’s Tumbleweed Connection, during the evening’s encore.
