Dave Matthews Band Dusts Off ‘Anyone Seen The Bridge’ In Vienna

193

Dave Matthews Band continued their European tour on Thursday pulling into Vienna, Austria for a gig at Wiener Stadthalle Halle D. The Charlottesville-born band revived the instrumental jam “Anyone Seen The Bridge” for the first time in nearly three years last night.

Dave Matthews & Co. got their evening going with “So Much To Say.” The Crash selection then segued into “Anyone Seen The Bridge,” which had been sitting untouched since May 21, 2016 – a span of 238 shows. The instrumental originally debuted as jam out of “So Much To Say” on October 3, 1996, and has been used a bridge between a number of songs including “Rapunzel,” “Spoon” and “Warehouse.” Last night the tune made its way into one of its traditional longtime partners “Too Much.”

From there, the jam band stalwarts would settle in on a mix of fan-favorites and material from their 2018 LP Come Tomorrow. DMB classics included takes on “Crash Into Me,” “One Sweet World,” “#41” and “Stay (Wasting Time),” which made its tour debut. The band also offered up “Save Me” from Matthews solo album Some Devil for the sixth time since 2015. Watch a version of “Anyone Seen The Bridge” from a decade ago in Europe:
