Last July, moe. made their return to Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheater with support from Pigeons Playing Ping Pong. moe.’s headlining performance that night saw the Buffalo natives perform a mix of fan-favorites spread out over two sets. The real magic, however, came during the show’s encore, when moe. welcomed Pigeons guitarists Greg Ormont and Jeremy Schon to the stage to help them play a cover of David Bowie‘s “Fame”. Nearly eight months have passed since the July 12th performance, but over the weekend, moe. shared the pro-shot video of their encore performance of Bowie’s chart-topping 1975 single from that night.
Ormont and Schon’s presence made for a packed stage for the funky Bowie hit, as the two guitarists played away on either side of moe. bassist Rob Derhak. moe. guitarist Chuck Garvey manned the vocal duties for the song’s first verse, with Ormont taking the reigns on the second. Following Ormont’s verse, Garvey returned to the mic before unleashing the song’s first guitar solo. Schon also joined in on the fun with his own groovy solo, which eventually turned into some fantastic back-and-forth playing between himself and Garvey. The arrival of the pro-shot video comes just a few days before the two bands are set to team up again for a pair of shows at Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas, NV on March 8th and 9th. moe. will also make their return to Red Rocks this spring for a concert with Mike Gordon and White Denim, scheduled for Friday, May 31st.
