PREMIERE: J.E.D.I. Recruits Eddie Roberts, Borahm Lee, Garrett Sayers For Noir-Inspired Single, “Mr. Sneaky” [Listen]

130

A new month, a new song from Aaron Johnston’s J.E.D.I. (Jazz Electronic Dance Improvised). Today, the experimental project has released its second single, “Mr. Sneaky”, via Color Red Studios. The new single follows last month’s release of J.E.D.I.’s debut single, “Back Atcha“.

With “Mr. Sneaky,” Johnston enlisted the likes of guitarist Eddie Roberts (The New Mastersounds), keyboardist Borahm Lee (Break Science), and bassist Garrett Sayers (The Motet) to help complete the song. The track features spy-like and noir-themed elements throughout the song, as well as some old-school breakbeat and jungle double-time drumming to build on the initial melody. Lee adds to the mysterious and funky vibe with ethereal chord voicings courtesy of his Fender Rhodes. Take a listen below:

Brooklyn-based psych-rock outfit Escaper will provide support on three of the shows.
