German metal group Rammstein are about to release their first album in almost 10 years and have shared their first single ‘Deutschland’.

The single has come with a video that features some pretty gross imagery that’s left German government officials and Jewish leaders unimpressed.

The criticisms first came earlier this week when Rammstein dropped a teaser for the video and new track.

});

The video has been dropped in full today but more context hasn’t really made it better.

Former president of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, Charlotte Knoblach told German tabloid Bild that “with this video, the band has crossed a line.”

“The instrumentalization and trivialization of the Holocaust, as shown in the images, is irresponsible.”

The teaser video showed footage of the Rammstein guys dressed in uniforms similar to the ones worn in concentration camps during World War II and with nooses around their necks.

In the full video, we see the prisoners seek revenge on the fascist guards.

Rammstein are famous for being controversial, with dark themes being a linking factor throughout their music.

While the Nazis definitely “lose” in the film clip, the music community seems to be torn with some calling it a “bombastic look at the darkness of Rammstein’s homeland” and others questioning if they’ve gone too far.

Rammstein’s self-titled album is set for release Friday 17th May, watch the video in full below.
