In January, Southern Avenue boarded the Norweigan Jade to perform on Jam Cruise 17. Pro-shot video of their live rendition of “Whiskey Love” was shared by the event’s organizers.
The Memphis-based rock act performed two sets across the six-day event, first playing an early daytime set on the Pool Deck on Wednesday, January 16, followed by an appearance in the Spinnaker Lounge on the cruise’s final day, Sunday, January 20. During their first showing, the band fronted by Tierinii Jackson introduced themselves to unfamiliar fans, setting the bar high with an energized performance that integrated tastes of rock, soul, and blues. The newly posted official footage of “Whisky Love” comes from the group’s Wednesday showcase.
Jackson commands the performance, captivating with her soulful vocals and magnetic stage presence. Led in by a crisp guitar riff from Ori Naftaly, the group easily settles into the number’s propulsive groove, highlighted by Jackson’s sister, drummer Tikyra Jackson.
