143

In February, the inaugural Suwannee Rising Music Festival was announced, which will take place at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida, from April 4 – 6. Now, the event, which unofficially replaced The Allman Brothers Band’s on-hiatus Wanee Music Festival, has announced the official lineup for Oteil & Friends‘ headlining performance, as well as its weekend schedule.

For Burbridge’s guest-filled set, the famed bassist will be joined by a number of collaborators well known within the Grateful Dead’s extended musical family. The lineup includes his Dead & Company bandmate, keyboardist Jeff Chimenti, as well as guitarists Scott Metzger (Joe Russo’s Almost Dead) and Neal Casal (Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Circles Around The Sun). Rounding out the rhythm section with Oteil is Mike Gordon Band drummer John Kimock.

With the newly released schedule, Suwannee Rising has also detailed the performance times across the festival’s two stages: the Amphitheatre Stage and Porch Stage. On Thursday, April 4, British funk quartet The New Mastersounds will headline the Amphitheatre Stage, with artists like The Fritz, Voodoo Visionary, Melody Trucks Band, LPT and others performing throughout the day.

The following day, on Friday, April 5, Oteil & Friends will lead into the first of Lettuce‘s headlining sets, with a reprise from The New Mastersounds and sets from The New Orleans Suspects and Kaleigh Baker’s Someday Honey preceding them on the main Amphitheatre Stage. Friday will also see sets from Ghost-Note, Come Back Alice, Good Talk and The Difference at the Porch Stage.

On the final day of Suwannee Rising — Saturday, April 6 — the Amphitheatre Stage will once again host Lettuce, along with moe., Dumpstaphunk, Ghost-Note and Electric Kif. Holey Miss Moley, Ben Sparaco & The New Effect, Ben Fagan & The Holy City Hooligans, Ella Jet & Future Soul and Shevonne are scheduled on the Porch Stage.
