Gospel jam band The Word has announced a special “First Sunday Sermon” performance at New Orleans, LA’s Joy Theater on Saturday, April 28th, with special guests G. Love and Southern Avenue.
The Word includes pedal steel guitarist Robert Randolph, keyboardist John Medeski (Medeski, Martin, and Wood), and North Mississippi Allstars‘ Luther Dickinson (guitar), and Cody Dickinson (drums). Originally joining forces in 2000, the group released their second studio album, Soul Food, in May 2015, and have strayed away from touring in recent years–making this one-off show a very special occasion.
Tickets for The Word’s New Orleans “First Sunday Sermon” show go on sale this Friday, March 29th at 10 a.m. (EST).
