One of the highlights of the 2018 DelFest music festival was a set performed by a collective of all-star musicians dubbed the Bluegrass Congress. DelFest organizers unveiled pro-shot video of “Del & Dawg” from last year’s Bluegrass Congress set.
Last year’s DelFest was held at Allegany County Fairgrounds in Cumberland, Maryland over Memorial Day Weekend, the same site and time frame as where and when the 2019 installment will take place. For the Bluegrass Congress performance, the Del McCoury Band was joined by David Grisman, Ricky Skaggs, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Bryan Sutton and Stuart Duncan. The set took place on May 26, 2018 and included Grisman leading the troupe on a song he wrote in honor of Del McCoury dubbed “Del & Dawg.” While David and Del usually perform the song as a duo, they unveiled the full band version during the Bluegrass Congress set.
