Lettuce Announces New Album ‘Elevate,’ Shares Single & Announces Tour Dates

154

Lettuce will issue their sixth studio album Elevate on June 14 via Regime Music Group. The announcement came with details of Fall 2019 tour dates and the LP’s lead single, “Krewe.”

The long-awaited follow-up to 2015’s Crush, a full-length album that was followed by the release of two EPs, contains 11 tracks. Lettuce tapped Russ Elevado (The Roots, D’Angelo, Erykah Badu) to produce the collection of new originals and covers. The sextet is said to “maintain its eclectic, free-wheeling approach while embracing a progressive and futuristic vibe, with elements of Pink Floyd, the Grateful Dead, Eno and Miles Davis, thanks to their love of improvisational music and arts,” as per press materials announcing Elevate.

Marcus King makes a vocal cameo on the album by contributing to the original “Love Is Too Strong.” Other road-tested originals that made the cut are “Shmink Dabby,” “Trapezoid,” “Gang 10” and “Purple Cabbage.” Lettuce also recorded covers of Lydia Pense’s “Ready To Live” and Tears For Fears‘ 1985 smash “Everbody Wants To Rule The World” featuring vocals from Nigel Hall. The first installment of a new six-part documentary series entitled “The Krewe – A Lettuce Documentary Series” will debut next week through Lettuce’s YouTube page.
