Peekskill Brewery launched their three-weekend takeover of the Paramount Theatre in Peekskill with a great showing of Hudson Valley talent with sets from The Brighton Beat and The Big Takeover this past Friday, April 19.

The evening progressed as the community of music and brew fans much like the brewery’s summer outdoor concerts, with a significant showing from friends and family of the bands. The Brighton Beat, a band well capable of playing long sets, kept to the confines of the hour or so block but delivered a good serving of their funk and jazz-based grooves. The Big Takeover took the stage for the second half of the evening and kept the crowd dancing with their blend of roots-reggae and pop/ska. Check out our gallery below.

Peekskill Brewery continues their Paramount Takeover this weekend with Flux Capacitor and ShwizZ on April 26 and Box of Rain with Ronald Reggae on April 27. Tickets for both shows are available on the Peekskill Brewery’s website. Doors/beer garden is open at 6 p.m. with music starting at 8 p.m. The series concludes next weekend with Hayley Jane and the Primates on May 3 and Funky Dawgz Brass Band on May 4.
