The next Phish live archival release features the band’s November 11, 1998 performance at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Guitarist Trey Anastasio, keyboardist Page McConnell, drummer Jon Fishman and bassist Mike Gordon were two weeks into a cross-country fall tour that started in Los Angeles and would wrap up a few weeks later with three nights at The Centrum in Worcester. Phish will issue an official recording of November 11, 1998 for both streaming and download via LivePhish.com on Tuesday (April 23).
A preview of the forthcoming LivePhish.com archival release will air tonight (Monday, April 22) at 9 p.m. ET on SiriusXM’s Jam On, which can be heard online or through Channel 29. The recording Phish will soon share was mixed from multitracks. November 11, 1998 will be just the 14th show from 1998 available through LivePhish. Highlights include an exploratory “Halley’s Comet,” rare covers of “If You Need A Fool” and “Walk Away,” tight and explosive versions of “Birds Of A Feather” and “Theme From The Bottom” as well as standout renditions of “Gumbo” and “Ghost.”
