The New Deal Announces East Coast Tour Dates

139

Last month, Jamtronica favorites The New Deal announced the addition of a new drummer, Davide Di Renzo, taking the place of former drummer Joel Stouffer. Keyboardist Jamie Shields and bassist Dan Kurtz revealed the news via their Facebook.

Stouffer joined the band in 2014 after The New Deal reemerged from their hiatus. Shields, Kurtz, and Stouffer toured vigorously through 2017 and released their Mercury Switch LP in 2016 before disappearing from the touring circuit.

The New Deal has announced a handful of new tour dates on the heels of their recent lineup changes. The trio will play the Beardfest pre-party at Philadelphia, PA’s Silk City on June 12, followed by a stop at Washington, D.C.’s Union Stage on June 13th, and a special late-night performance at Brooklyn, NY’s Brooklyn Bowl on June 14th. Shields, Kurtz, and Di Renzo will also play previously announced festival sets at Beardfest and STS9’s Wave Spell Live.

Along with the announcement of Di Renzo joining the band, the trio also shared a new 16-minute track, “Halo Drive”, recorded on November 13th, 2018 during a recording session. Listen to The New Deal’s recently released “Halo Drive” below:
