ZZ Top Announces 50th Anniversary Tour

193

ZZ Top will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a lengthy U.S. tour that will stretch from mid-August through the end of October. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame act will be joined by both Cheap Trick and Lynyrd Skynyrd throughout the 34-date, amphitheater-heavy run.

“It’s been five decades, and I think we’re starting to get pretty good at all this! We’re truly excited to be appearing across the continent this summer and fall, playing our bluesy kind of rock like we started in ’69,” shared Billy Gibbons. “The beards, Frank’s excepted, are perhaps a bit longer, yet nothing else has changed. We’re keeping it that way.”

ZZ Top’s 50th-anniversary run kicks off on August 16 with a four-show swing through Washington State with nights in Ridgefield, Airway Heights, Yakima and Woodinville. The Texas boogie band will bring the tour around the country to such cities as Santa Barbara, San Diego, Phoenix, Kansas City, Milwaukee, Boston, Cleveland, Louisville, Charlotte and Alpharetta. The three-piece act closes out the trek with four shows in Florida by making stops in St. Augustine, Estero and Tampa before wrapping things up on October 20 at the Coral Sky Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach.
