Founding keyboardist Adam MacDougall is no longer a member of Chris Robinson Brotherhood. The CRB also revealed the band will begin a hiatus that is expected to last through the end of 2019 following a tour that concludes at the end of July.

“The CRB and Adam MacDougall have parted ways,” reads a statement from the group. “It was a great run with Adam and we wish him the best. We are looking forward to releasing our new studio album, Servants Of The Sun, on June 14 and will continue to tour through the end of July. Following which, the band will take the remainder of 2019 off.” The group’s representative declined comment when asked who would play keyboards for The CRB through late July.

Earlier today, the Chris Robinson Brotherhood canceled a concert originally slated to take place at Webster Hall in New York City on October 9. Additionally, Hoxeyville Music Festival organizers announced the CRB canceled their appearance at this year’s event.

MacDougall’s tenure with Chris Robinson dates back to 2007. Adam replaced Rob Clores in The Black Crowes starting with the recording of Warpaint in 2007. The New York City native played keys in The Black Crowes from 2007 through the band’s breakup in 2015. In 2011, he formed the Chris Robinson Brotherhood with Chris Robinson, guitarist Neal Casal, bassist Mark Dutton and drummer George Sluppick. Casal remains the only original member in the band besides Robinson. Servants Of The Sun is due on June 14 and the album’s release will be celebrated at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn on June 27. The status of the group’s LOCKN’ Festival performance is unclear as the date appears on both the band and the festival’s websites.

Adam McDougall is currently on the road with Circles Around the Sun, which also features Casal, bassist Dan Horne and drummer Mark Levy as part of a 25+ date spring tour. The keyboardist has also departed Robinson’s As The Crow Flies [ATCF] project. ATCF returns to the stage for the first time since New Year’s Eve this Friday, May 3 at the BeachLife Festival.
