Timex Drops ’70s-Style Dive Watch With ‘Rolex Pepsi’ Vibes

171

Timex’s latest timepiece is a blast from the past that won’t break the bank.

With a stylish red, blue and gold colorway reminiscent of the coveted Rolex ‘Pepsi’, the Q Timex is an affordable reissue of the budget diver that the American watchmaker originally launched in 1979.

The “Q” printed above the logo denotes the quartz-powered movement that replaced Timex’s mechanical mechanisms 40 years ago.

A woven stainless steel bracelet inspires more ’70s nostalgia, while the retro model’s battery hatch, rotating top ring and luminescent hands serve as functional features. Everything is protected by a 38mm acrylic case.

To accompany the Q-Timex’s release, the company dropped a James Bond-esque cartoon that definitely walks the line between cool and corny—decide which it is for yourself:

Priced at $179, the Q Timex goes on sale this month.
