On Tuesday, Trey Anastasio Band opened up their four-night run in the southeast with a performance at St. Petersburg, FL’s Jannus Live.

Trey Anastasio and his band—comprised of Jennifer Hartswick, Russ Lawton, Tony Markellis, Natalie Cressman, James Casey, and Cyro Baptista—opened up their first set with “Set Your Soul Free” before coasting into a bouncy take on “Cayman Review”. Following “Mozambique”, TAB charged forward into “My Problem Right There”, a Hands On A Hardbody song that’s been on the shelf since February 27th, 2011.

The band then dove into “Camel Walk”, played for the first time by TAB with a full horn section. Casey, Cressman, and Hartswick put the perfect added touch on “Camel Walk”, with Trey laying down some explosive guitar work. Trey Anastasio Band continued on with “Blaze On” and “Curlew’s Call” before dusting off “Frost” and “The Song”, both played for the first time in almost two years. “Alive Again” made way for an appropriate set-closing take on “Tuesday”.

Following a brief setbreak, the band returned to open their second set with “Sometime After Sunset” followed by a lengthy “Everything’s Right”. St. Petersburg got a heavy dose of Trey’s tenacious horn section, as the band coasted through “Alaska”, “Magilla”, and “Money Love & Change” before offering up a breezy “Ether Sunday”. TAB moved forward with “Burn That Bridge”, the second Hands On A Hardbody tune of the night, which made way for an exploratory “Sand”. Trey, James, Natalie, and James stepped front and center to sing the a capella traditional “The Parting Glass” before closing the set out with “Push On Til’ The Day”. Tab offered up a pairing of “Valentine” and “Gotta Jibboo” in the encore slot, keeping things groovy through the final notes of the show.
