Twiddle & Pigeons Playing Ping Pong Team With Kitchen Dwellers At Red Rocks: Full Show Pro-Shot Video

148

Twiddle and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong co-headlined the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado on Thursday night with support from jamgrass act Kitchen Dwellers. All three acts each played a set before they collaborated on a “TwidGeons” set that ended with a 20-person choir joining in for a cover of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

After the Kitchen Dwellers’ set, PPPP opened with fan-favorite “Poseidon” and tribute to football player Rob Gronkowski “Yo Soy Fiesta.” A seamless sequence of “Somethin’ For Ya” into “Kiwi” into “Distant Times” followed before Pigeons performed “Sunny Day” and fit “Sir Real” within “Walk Outside.” The focus on originals continued throughout set-closing run of “Melting Lights,” “The Liquid” and “Ocean Flows.”

Twiddle also put the focus on originals at Red Rocks last night. An impressive segment featuring “Hattie’s Jam” into “The Box” into “Grandpa Fox” into “When It Rains It Pours” kicked off the Vermont jam quartet’s set. After “Tiberius,” Twiddle welcomed 19-year-old violinist Richard Vagner for “Subconscious Prelude.” Then, the four-piece concluded their performance by working “Jamflowman” into “Dinnerfork,” which in turn bled into “Frankenfoote” and the “Be There” set closer. “Frankenfoote” was busted out after a long time on the shelf at Twiddle’s 2018 Red Rocks show.

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Twiddle and Torrin Daniels of Kitchen Dwellers loaded the stage to begin the TwidGeons set with a rendition of Twiddle’s “Apples.” The rest of Kitchen Dwellers then emerged for the band’s “Visions Of Mohr.” Next, PPPP’s Greg Ormont led the ensemble through The Proclaimers’ “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles).” Ormont was also up front for the Pigeons original “F.U.” and Talking Heads classic “Psycho Killer.” Twiddle frontman Mihali and Ormont delivered a stirring a capella rendition of Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Sound Of Silence” as the choir took the stage in preparation for the evening’s grand finale. All three bands and the 20-piece choir delivered a stunning cover of “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen to end the memorable concert.
